Ayanna LaChay Taylor, 31, of California, MD died on Monday, March 8, 2004.
Born on May 17, 1972, in Leonardtown, MD, she was the daughter of Phyllis M. Fenwick
Taylor and the late Heartic Lee Taylor, Jr.
Chay was educated in the public school system of St. Marys County, MD
and graduated from Great Mills High School in 1991. Upon completion of high school, she
graduated from Nursing School. She was currently employed at the Asbury Retirement Home,
Solomons, MD as a GNA, (Medical Assistant). She also worked at the St. Marys Nursing
Center, as a Medical Assistant and at CVS, as a pharmacy technician.
In her spare time, Chay enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She
also enjoyed shopping, playing bingo, and cards. She will be remembered by her graceful
smile and beautiful eyes. She possessed a loving heart and will truly be missed by her
family, friends and co-workers.
Chay and her mother shared a special relationship, not only a mother and
daughter relationship, also a relationship as Sisters.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving mother, Phyllis F. Taylor, of Lexington Park,
MD, one brother, Telvon Markki Taylor, of Lexington Park, MD, one sister, Felicia Curtis,
of Silver Spring, MD, paternal grandfather, Heartic Taylor, Sr. of Lexington Park, MD,
maternal grandmother, Mae Howell, of Lexington Park, MD, aunts, Cynthia Fenwick, Delilah
Ann Taylor, both of Lexington Park, MD, and Anita Davis and husband Darnell, of NAS Cuba,
uncles, Ollie Taylor of Lexington Park, MD and Clifford Howell and wife Anna Marie of St.
Inigoes, MD and a very special cousin Ricky Taylor, along with a host of loving cousins,
nieces, a nephew and friends. In addition to her father her paternal grandmother, Linna
Taylor, and one aunt, Doris Jean Stephens preceded her in death.
Friends may call on Saturday, March 13, 2004 at the First Missionary Baptist Church,
Lexington Park, MD from 8:30 am until 10:30 am. A funeral service will be held at 10:30
am. The Reverend Roderick McClanahan will officiate. Interment will follow in the church
cemetery.
Pallbearers for Chay will be Charles Dickerson, Tony Hatton, Sheron Chase, Johnny Hill,
Kashif Dyson and Terrance Green. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ricky Taylor, Bernard London
and Clifford Howell
