Big Mouth Crackhead or Aggressive Advocate?
CALLAWAY --- On 07-27-04, St. Mary's Sheriff's Deputy Richard W. Russell
was conducting radar and observed a vehicle driving 63 mph in a 50 mph zone in the
Callaway area. Upon stopping the vehicle the occupants were identified as James
Edward Nolan and Eileen Day-Jackson. Nolan was observed attempting to hide a metal smoking
device that contained suspected cocaine residue. During the arrest process of Nolan,
police report that Day-Jackson became disorderly and started using loud profane language.
Day-Jackson was warned to cease the use of profanity, to lower her voice and move away
from the arresting Officers several times but failed to do so. Day-Jackson was
subsequently arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct and Obstructing/Hindering in the
arrest of Nolan. Suspect Nolan was charged with CDS Possession and CDS
Possession:Paraphernalia.
Man Charged with Shooting Out Truck Tire
HOLLYWOOD --- Cpl. Katherine Dassing of the St. Mary's Sheriff's
Department reports that Deputy Richard W. Russell located Paul Edwin Richardson, Jr.
at his residence in Hollywood, Maryland. The suspect was served a Criminal Summons for an
incident that occurred on or about July 14, 2004. The victim Steven M. Grove alleges that
during an argument the suspect shot at him while he was inside his truck. The victim
later discovered that the tire on his truck had been blown out as a result of the
shot destroying the tire. The type of weapon used in the assault is unknown. The suspect
was charged with Assault First Degree, Reckless Endangerment and Malicious Destruction of
Property. Police say Richardson is awaiting a preliminary hearing in the District
Court for St. Mary's County.
Shoplifter Assaulted Grocery Manager
LEXINGTON PARK --- St. Mary's Sheriff's Cpl. Katherine Dassing reports
that Sheriff 's deputies responded to McKay's Grocery Store in Lexington Park, St.
Mary's County for the report of a Theft. Deputy First Class W. Daniel Ray arrested suspect
Wanda Theresa Coles for allegedly stealing two (2) cartons of cigarettes, that she had
placed into a purse. The suspect allegedly assaulted the store manager as he attempted to
apprehend her. The suspect was also charged with Assault Second Degree.
Probation Violation Charged
LEONARDTOWN --- On 07/26/04 st. Mary's Sheriff's Deputy Stephen Myers
arrested Emmanuel Jones of Lusby Maryland
on an outstanding warrant. The warrant was a Bench Warrant for Violation of Probation on a
CDS Charge.
Galant Damaged
LEONARDTOWN --- A report from Cpl. Jeffrey McLane of the St. Mary's
Sheriff's Department says that on July 26, 2004, DFC Stephen Myers responded to Indian Way
for a reported Property Destruction. Victim Ryan Swales reported between 07/25/04 8 pm to
07/26/04 at 8:30 am, unknown persons used a sharp object to scratch his vehicle, a 2000
Mitsubishi Galant. The damage is estimated at $1000.00.
Clerk Confronted Butt Thief; Man Fled with Gas
CHARLOTTE HALL --- On 07/24/04 Deputy Diane Thompson responded to WaWa Charlotte Hall for
a reported theft. It was reported a white male went to the WAWA and obtained
gasoline without paying for same. The vehicle is described as a 1985 Cadillac bearing
Maryland tag LZC-465. The passenger of the vehicle had gone inside the T/A and reached
behind the counter and stole a carton of cigarettes. When confronted by a store employee
he threw the cigarettes to the employee and fled in the above described vehicle.
Beer Bottle Bandit Could Have Rabies: Bit Deputy
LEXINGTON PARK --- St. Mary's Sheriff's Deputies DFC Patrick Handy, Deputy
Harold Young, and DFC Stephen
Myers responded to Canopy Liquors on Monday, July 26, 2004 for a reported theft. Upon
arrival it was reported by police that suspect James Brian Byrnes had stolen 2 bottles of
beer from the establishment and fled. He was apprehended by the store
owner. During the apprehension Byrnes attempted to strike Richard Dillow with a bottle. He
was transported to St. Mary's Hospital for possible injuries. While being treated Byrnes
attempted to bite DFC Handy. Byrnes was subsequently charged with Theft, 2 counts of
Assault. A wanted check revealed that Byrnes was wanted out of Prince Georg's County for
First
Degree Assault.
Hot Credit Card Used to Boost Generator
GREAT MILLS --- St. Mary's Sheriff's deputies report that on Monday, July
26, 2004, Deputy Eva Snyder served Criminal Summonses on William Dennis Fowler and Amanda
Lynn Cantrell of Lexington Park. Deputy Snyder conducted an investigation into
Credit Card Fraud and Theft over $500.00 at Dyson's Lumber. The investigation revealed
William Fowler, Amanda Cantrell assisted another person using a stolen credit card
number and obtained a Coleman Generator. Fowler was charged with Felony Theft over $500.00
and use of a Credit Card. Cantrell was charged with Theft over $500.00.
Man Charged with Beating Woman
LEXINGTON PARK --- St. Mary's Sheriff's Cpl. Jeffrey McLane reports that on Monday,
07/26/04 Deputy Eva Snyder responded to Shangri La Drive for a reported Assault. The
Victim Shirley Grice reported she was assaulted by
Michael Tyrone Gray of Lexington Park. Deputy Snyder located Mike Gray and charged him
with Assault 2nd degree.
