Bowie House Fire
Injures Adult Female Occupant
Just after 1:00 AM,
Sunday, August 27, 2006, fire/EMS units from the Bowie area responded to
a report of a house fire with the possibility of the occupants being
trapped inside. First arriving units from the Pointer Ridge Fire/EMS
Station 43 arrived at a 1-story single-family home in the 15800 Block of
Pacific Court with heavy fire showing from the side and rear of the
house. Firefighters effected the rescue of an adult female from the
burning house, she was subsequently transported on-board Maryland State
Police Helicopter “Trooper 2” to an area Burn Unit in “serious”
condition. An adult male occupant of the house was assisted by the
County Office of Emergency Management with temporary shelter.
Firefighters knocked the fire down in about 30 minutes after arrival.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and fire loss is estimated
at $200,000.
