ASPEN HILL --- Montgomery County Police report that Fourth District officers arrested a woman and her 15-year-old son and charged them both with assaulting the woman’s ex-boyfriend at the Aspen Hill 7-11 store.

At 1:39 this morning, the victim, a 40-year-old Silver Spring man, was in the parking lot of the Aspen Hill 7-11 at 14101 Georgia Avenue, along with his ex-girlfriend and her son. An argument ensued, and the woman attempted to run the victim down with her car. The victim ran inside the 7-11 store and was pursued by his ex-girlfriend and her son, each of whom was now armed with a knife.

The woman and her son both advanced on the victim and a struggle ensued during which the son stabbed the victim in the chest. The assailants fled from the store in their car.

Several police officers responded to the call. While en route to the scene, Sgt. Stephen D’Ovidio spotted a car crossing Georgia Avenue and darting into the Home Depot parking lot with its lights turned off. Sgt. D’Ovidio stopped the car and when he approached it, he saw a knife covered in blood on the passenger-side floor at the 15-year-old’s feet. Both mother and son were arrested.

Arrested were Shelby A. Ramseur, 41, and her son, D’Antonio W. Stroman, 15, both of the 14200 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring. Both have been charged with First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, and Carrying a Deadly Weapon with the Intent to Injure. In addition, Stroman was charged as an adult with Attempted First Degree Murder. Both are being held without bond at the Montgomery County Detention Center.
