Buck Knifed Old Man
BRYANS ROAD --- Police report that on March 2 about
7:30 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's detectives arrested Christopher Alan Buck, 21, of
Bryans Road for the murder of Edward Ellias Broody, 74, of Bryans Road. Buck has been
charged with First Degree Murder, First Degree Assault and Carrying a Deadly Weapon with
Intent to Injure. Buck is being held without bond in the Charles County Detention Center.
Detectives and Sheriff's deputies canvassed the neighborhood of Indian Head Estates and
other nearby subdivisions looking for witnesses in this case. A witness reported seeing an
older man walking and a younger man behind him on Amherst Road Sunday evening. The witness
description of the older man matched that of the deceased. The witness described the
young white male to detectives. Detectives and deputies initiated a search for a person
matching that description.
On Tuesday, March 1, detectives made contact with the a person matching the description of
the younger white male walking in the North Indian Head Estates subdivision and identified
him as Christopher Alan Buck, who lives in the neighborhood. Detectives spoke with Buck at
that time. A search warrant was obtained on March 2. Detectives interviewed Buck on March
2 at the same time detectives executed a search and seizure warrant at Buck's home.
Physical evidence was obtained from the residence. During the interview, the defendant
admitted the involvement in the stabbing on Sunday evening of the victim. The defendant
admitted to using a knife to stab the victim. The defendant gave details of the attack
known only to investigating detectives.
Buck was arrested at his home without incident.
