Calvert Man Dead in Crash; Speed Blamed

HUNTINGTOWN ---  Calvert Sheriff's spokesman Deputy Chip Allen reports that yesterday, February 1st, 2005 at 5:38pm, Deputies from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Ponds Wood Road and Spears Road, Huntingtown, Md. for a reported serious auto crash.

Police say that their preliminary investigation revealed a vehicle operated by Donte Todd Foote, 27, of Huntingtown, was traveling east bound on Ponds Wood Road. For an unknown reason the driver lost control of the car. The 1995 Nissan Altima left the roadway and struck a utility pole.

Foote was transported to the Calvert Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team is conducting the investigation. Speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
