Catholic Schools Closed for Reagan Funeral

Cardinal Theodore E. McCarrick, Archbishop of Washington, will celebrate a Mass in Remembrance of President Ronald Reagan on Friday, June 11, 8:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Matthew, 1725 Rhode Island Avenue, NW, Washington, DC.
Later that morning, Cardinal McCarrick will read the Gospel at the funeral of the former president, to be held at the Washington National Cathedral.
Cardinal McCarrick met President Reagan several times over the years. The last time they spoke was in 1993 at a dinner to celebrate comedian Bob Hope’s 90th birthday.

Also, since Friday, June 11 has been declared a National Day of Mourning, offices and schools of the Archdiocese of Washington will be closed. These facilities typically follow closing guidelines of the Federal government

The Catholic schools closed include all St. Mary's, Calvert and Charles County schools.
