Counterfeit Check Casher Wearing Kango Hat

WALDORF ---  The Charles County Sheriff’s Department and Charles County Crime Solvers are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in a counterfeit check investigation.

On April 15, 2004, the suspect cashed counterfeit checks at three branches of Maryland Bank and Trust in Charles County. The suspect cashed a check at the Bryans Road branch at 12:50 p.m., the Waldorf branch at 1:26 p.m. and the La Plata branch at 1:58 p.m.

The suspect is described as a black male with a mustache and was wearing a leather "Kango" hat. The Sheriff’s Office has released photographs of the suspect obtained from surveillance equipment and is asking anyone with information to call Det. K. Selkirk at 301-609-6595.
