Charles Officials Seek Help
with Seized Critters
LA PLATA --- A genius in animal control
for Charles County, along with the Charles Sheriff's Dept. decided to raid a house in La
Plata with a search warrant, according to the county's public information officer Nina
Voehl, and they now have responsibility for caring for more than 244 small animals such as
guinea pigs. St. Mary's seized several horses last year and stuck the taxpayers
with the bill for $12,000 for keeping the horses in a fancy stable in Frederick
County. Will Charles County now just kill off these hundreds of small animals or
simply sell them to a Chinese restaurant? Could they just release whoever was
arrested and assign them to home detention to care for their critters?
Only The Shadow knows for sure!
If you want to help out with caring for
these animals call the Charles County Animal Shelter at 301-932-1713 or
1-800-903-1992.
