Clean Marina Awards
ANNAPOLIS (August 15, 2005) Maryland Dept. of Natural Resources (DNR) Secretary C. Ronald Franks presented Clean Marina certifications to 21 marinas at an annual recognition ceremony on Friday at Sandy Point State Park Marina. The only marina in Southern Maryland to receive the award was the Solomon's Yachting Center. The Maryland Clean Marina Initiative assists marina, boatyards and yacht club operators to protect Maryland’s natural resources. To become a certified Clean Marina, marinas have to fulfill criteria determined by the program. For more information, click here. The marinas certified were:
