Clinton Russell Souder, Jr.

Clinton Russell “Clint” Souder, Jr., 74, of Mechanicsville, MD died on March 19, 2005 in North Beach, MD. Born November 6, 1930, he was the son of the late Clinton R. and Thelma Beckert Souder, Sr. He is survived by his children, Phylis McCullough of Huntingtown, MD, Clinton R. Souder of Crofton, MD, Dana M. Pettie of Mechanicsville, MD, Shirley S. Bauer of Chesapeake Beach, MD and his step-children Mike Skogland of Williamsburg, VA and Joe Skogland of Norfolk, VA, 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Sarah O’Connell of Kensington, MD. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen M. Souder, whom he married on December 15, 1961 in Washington, DC, a step-daughter, Denise Skogland and a brother, James Souder. Mr. Souder served four years in the U. S. Navy and was then employed as a supervisor for the C&P Telephone Company for 33 years until his retirement in 1985. Prayers for Mr. Souder were said in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel on March 22, 2005 and a Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at 10:00 AM in All Faith Episcopal Church, Charlotte Hall, MD with Rev. Jim Hunter officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mr. Souder will be Mark Pettie, Chuck Bauer, Jamie Souder, Craig Souder, Glenn McCullough and Russell Souder. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Skogland, Jimmy Turner and Joe Skogland. Arrangements provided by Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, P.A.
