COAST GUARD MEDEVACS
MAN FROM CRUISE SHIP
PORTSMOUTH, Va. -- The Coast Guard medically evacuated a man from a cruise ship 110
nautical miles east of Cape Henry, Va. around 6 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004..
The Coast Guard was called to airlift the 78-year-old man after he was having heart attack
symptoms aboard the cruise ship Carnival Legend.
A Coast Guard rescue helicopter and C-130 aircraft were launched from Air Station Elizabeth City, N.C. around 5:15 a.m. After arriving at the cruise ship, the man was hoisted into the rescue helicopter and taken to Norfolk Sentara Hospital.
