Cops Bust Johns in Prostitution Sting
LEXINGTON PARK --- Three weeks ago, local police arrested two
women who had been selling their wares in broad daylight along Great Mills Road about two
blocks from the main gate of the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. Now it was the turn of
the customers who had been paying for sex.
On Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, detectives assigned to a joint criminal investigation task force
composed of the Maryland State Police and the St. Mary's Sheriff's Department conducted a
special undercover operation on Great Mills Road in Lexington Park. Personnel posing as
prostitutes were stationed on Maryland Route 246 near South Essex Drive.
During the operation, several individuals made contact with the undercover personnel and
offered money in exchange for sexual favors. The following subjects were identified by
Sgt. Edward Willenborg of the St. Mary's Sheriff's Dept. as being arrested and charged
with violating Maryland Criminal Code CR 11-306 Prostitution-general:
