Crack Distributor Had Stolen Tags on Bike
DUNKIRK --- Calvert County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Chip Allen reports that on July 2nd, 2004 at 12:20 pm, Dfc. Cress, Dfc Naecker and Trooper Davis, conducted a traffic stop on a Red and Silver Suzuki Motorcycle on Rt. 4 in the area of Ward Rd. Dunkirk, Md. A computer check revealed the motorcycle and it’s registration plates were reported stolen to the Prince George’s County Police. The motorcycle operator was identified as; Jeffery D. Wells, 21, of Accokeek, Md. He was taken into custody and charged with theft. A search was conducted and he was found to be in possession of 30 small baggie each containing suspected crack cocaine. Wells was also charged with possession of CDS with the intent to distribute. He was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center for processing.
Man Slashed in Throat With Machete
ST. LEONARD --- On July 5th, 2004 at 2:16 am, Calvert Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 8600 block of Mackall Rd., St. Leonard, Md. for a report of a fight in progress. Upon their arrival they located the victim. He had had a 4 inch laceration across his neck in the area of his throat. Deputies learned the cut was made a machete. The suspect was identified as Allen L. Ledford Jr.; 29 years old of St. Leonard, Md. He was located at scene and taken into custody. He was charged with 1st Degree Assault and Reckless Endangerment. He was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center for processing.
Old Guy with Pot in Pocket
LOVEVILLE --- Maryland State Police report that on 7/11/04, at 9:20 p.m., TFC J. L. Linger initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in Loveville. Upon contacting the driver, TFC Linger detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A search incident to probable cause revealed suspected marijuana in the driver's pant's pocket. Thomas L. Thompson, 51 years, of Mechanicsville, was arrested. An additional search of the vehicle revealed a suspected marijuana cigarette. Mr. Thompson was charged with possession of CDS and incarcerated in the Detention Center pending a bond hearing.

LEXINGTON PARK --- On 7/8/04, between 1:30 p.m. and 11:45 p.m., unknown suspect(s) removed the front and rear Maryland registration plates "DWR272" from a vehicle parked at a residence on Essex Drive in Lexington Park. TFC S. M. Van Bennekum is conducting this investigation.
Lots of Damage for Older Vehicles

On 7/10/04, between 2:00 a.m. and 2:30 a.m., unknown suspect(s) damaged a 1994 Chevrolet Van and a 1992 Ford Explorer at a residence on Bridgett Lane in Lexington Park. Damage is estimated at $14,000. Tpr. M. W.

Man Charged with Beating Woman

AVENUE --- On 7/10/04, at 8:02 p.m., TFC J. L. Linger responded to a residence on Olen Mattingly Road in Avenue for a reported assault. As a result, Robert M. Long, 28, of Avenue, was arrested and charged with 2nd degree assault on a 27 year old female at the residence. Mr. Long was incarcerated in the Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
Pot Pipe Packing Goad for Trip to Jail

PRINCE FREDERICK --- Calvert Sheriff’s deputies report that on June 28th, 2004 at 11:05 pm, Deputy McCarroll conducted a traffic stop in the Fox Run Shopping Center. A consent search of the vehicle and it’s occupants revealed a passenger in the vehicle, identified as David M. Goad Jr., 22, of Prince Frederick, was in possession of non-conventional smoking device containing suspected marijuana. Goad was placed under arrest and charged with possession of CDS and CDS paraphernalia. He was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center for processing.

St. Mary’s Man Busted With Dope in Calvert
HUNTINGTOWN --- On July 2nd, 2004 at 10:30 pm, Cpl. R. McCourt conducted a traffic stop on Rt 4 in the area of Plum Point Rd., Huntingtown Md. During the stop he observed what he believed to suspected marijuana in a rolled up plastic sandwich bag. He retrieved the baggie and placed Robert W. Roberts, 19, of Great Mills under arrest for possession of CDS and possession of CDS paraphernalia. He was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center for processing.

Book of Lottery Scratch Offs Stolen from Peking Liquors
CHESAPEAKE BEACH --- On July 3rd, 2004 at 5:30 pm, Dfc. Wilson responded to Peking Restaurant and Liquor Store located in the 3800 block of Chesapeake Beach Rd., Chesapeake Beach, Md. for a reported theft. The victim said a book of scratch off lottery tickets were stolen from behind the display case. The book contained 60 tickets that sell for $5.00 each. Anyone with information on this case should contact Dfc. Wilson at the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office.

Noisy and Stupid
HUNTINGTOWN --- On July 4th, 2004 at 2:15 Deputy Milam responded to Ms. Sam’s Way in Huntingtown, Md. for a reported loud party. He contacted the homeowner who was advised to end the party and reduce the noise. As Deputy Milam was leaving the residence he detected an odor of burning marijuana coming a vehicle that was parked in the yard. He contacted the occupant and found a non-conventional smoking devise and a small amount of suspected marijuana in the car. James L. Burke 4th was placed under arrest for possession of CDS and possession of CDS paraphernalia. He was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center for processing.

A Perfect Busted Window
PRINCE FREDERICK --- During the nighttime hours on July 7th, 2004 unknown person(s) broke the front window of A Perfect Tan, located at 533 N Solomons Island Rd. Prince Frederick, Md. Deputy Shrawder is investigation.

Pirates Stole Canoe
SOLOMON'S --- On July 8th, 2004 at 10:00 pm, Deputy J. Smith responded to the 500 block of Aldersgate Dr. Solomons, Md. for a reported theft. The victim said his 16-foot canoe was stolen on July 2nd, 2004. There are no suspects at this time.

Burglar Entered Hudson's Thru Roof
PRINCE FREDERICK --- On July 9th, 2004 at 1:37 am, Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Hudson’s Sunoco located in Huntingtown, Md. for a burglar alarm. Once on the scene it was determined that an unknown person entered the establishment through the roof. When the alarm activated the unknown suspect left the business by the garage door. Dfc. Tomlinson is investigating.
