Dead Man May Have Been On Train for Week 

ROCKVILLE ---- The Montgomery County Police report that their Major Crimes Division - Homicide/Sex Section has identified the body found in a coal train car in Dickerson on January 11.

The victim has been identified as Jonathan Schuppe, age 22, of the 16400 block of Banbury Drive in Bowie MD. The investigation revealed that Schuppe voluntarily checked himself into a hospital in Prince Georges County on Jan 2, and then walked out of the hospital on Jan 3rd. Records indicate Schuppe was listed as a missing person by the Prince Georges County Police.

On January 11, 2005, at approximately 6:00 p.m., officers from the 5th District responded to the report of a found body in the 21200 block of Martinsburg Road, in Dickerson. Police were called to the scene by a worker at the Mirant Power Plant, after a body was found while employees were emptying their coal delivery from the train cars.

The train Schuppe was discovered in spent a brief time in the Washington DC. area retrieving additional train cars prior to going to Pennsylvania. At this time it is unclear where and when Schuppe entered the CSX coal car. The train was loaded with coal in Pennsylvania on Jan 6, and arrived in Montgomery County the evening of Jan 10.
