Death of 15 Year Old Ruled a Homicide

Shortly after midnight on Friday, March 19, 2004, an adolescent male was transported in an unconscious condition by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services ambulance from a private residence located in the 1300 block of Congress Street, SE. The adolescent male was subsequently pronounced dead at Greater Southeast Community Hospital. The decedent in this case has been identified as 15-year-old Sherrod Miller, of the Congress Street, SE, address

On September 14, 2004, the DC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled Sherrod Miller's death a homicide, with the cause of death being blunt force trauma.

This case is under investigation by members of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
