District Slasher Nabbed in New York City Shelter
 
At approximately 6:30 am on Tuesday, January 25, 2005, a 76-year-old woman was cut and stabbed about the head and hands and robbed while in her residence in the 1200 block of Decatur Street, NW.

A subsequent investigation by detectives of the Fourth District led to the issuance of an arrest warrant charging 51-year-old Robert Frank Taylor, no fixed address, with First Degree Burglary While Armed.

At approximately 5 am on Wednesday, February 16, 2005, Mr. Taylor was arrested without incident at a shelter located in the 2900 block of Frederick Douglas Boulevard in New York City. His arrest was made by members of the District’s Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (composed of members of the United States Marshals Service and the Metropolitan Police Department) and the Southern District United States Marshals Office, New York Warrant Squad.

Mr. Taylor now faces extradition from New York back to the District.
