Dogs and Cats Were Not As Lucky As Bookkeeper of Animal Clinic

LEONARDTOWN --- Maryland State Police Trooper William Rosado reports that on 04/06/05 the St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations, a joint investigation team of the State Police and the St. Mary's Sheriff's Dept., began an investigation into a theft scheme at the Lucky Ones Pet Clinic. Over a time period spanning from February 2005 to April of 2005, thousands of dollars were stolen from the pet clinic's checking account. The investigation revealed that Suspect Sandra Lynn Wells, a 35 year old Lexington Park woman, had stolen the funds. The suspect was arrested and charged with several counts of Theft Over $500, Theft Scheme Over $500, and Theft Under $500. The suspect was incarcerated at the St. Mary's County Detention Center awaiting an appearance in front of the District Court Commissioner.
