Dolores Jane “Jeannie” Langley

Dolores Jane “Jeannie” Langley, 59, of Great Mills, MD died on Thursday, March 18, 2004 at her residence.

Born on August 20, 1944 in Fairmont, WV, she was the daughter of the late William M. and Hazel Kendall Hutson.

Mrs. Langley moved to St. Mary’s County in 1959 from WV. She was a member of the Holy Face Catholic Church, Great Mills, MD. She was an active volunteer at the Little Flower School the years that her children spent there. She also spent her evenings reading the bible. Jeannie loved to cook big meals for her family and friends and enjoyed having cookouts. She also had a pot of coffee ready for visitors. She spent many years helping her friends by caring for their children. Jeannie helped run the farm and also enjoyed raising animals. She was excellent at canning the vegetables that grew in her garden. She loved country music and especially enjoyed attending the county fair. Jeannie could never do enough for her boys Mike and Tommy, and she loved her daughter in law Faith, and her two granddaughters Elizabeth and Amanda. It was very important for her to have a clean home that was always open to friends and family. One of her favorite past times was collecting old glass, especially Depression glass.

She is survived by her husband Francis Vernon Langley whom she married on October 14, 1960, two sons, Thomas Roland Langley and Michael Troy Langley both of Great Mills, MD, two sisters, Thelma Joan White, of Duck, WV and Sandra Sue Obercker of Olmstead Falls, OH, two grandchildren, Elizabeth Wathen and Amanda Langley also survive. In addition to her parents three brothers, William McKinley Hutson, Kenneth Lee Hutson and Frank Hutson, preceded her in death.

Friends may call on Friday, March 19, 2004 at the Holy Face Catholic Church, Great Mills, MD from 5:00 until 8:00 pm. Prayers will be recited at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 20, 2004 at 11:00 am. The Reverend Kevin O’Reilly will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
