Donald Larence Boswell
Donald Larence Boswell, 80, of California, MD, died on Friday,
December 31, 2004 at his residence.
Born on February 1, 1924 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Stanley and Nellie
Goodwin Boswell. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1942 until 1946. He was
awarded the European Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, Victory
Medal and the Purple Heart Medal. He was a qualified deep sea salvage diver. Mr. Boswell
was a plumber for the Heffron Company retiring after 42 years of service. He was a member
of Steamfitters and Plumbers Union Local #5. He was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by a daughter, Susan Vernon and her husband Richard of Tallahassee, FL, a
son, Robert Boswell and his wife Susan of Leonardtown, MD, two sisters, Gloria Maisti of
Chesapeake, VA , Doris Rehrig of Redbank, NJ, four grandchildren, Diana Benton of
Marietta, GA, Patrick Benton of Tallahassee, FL, Whitney Abell and David Boswell of
Leonardtown, MD. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52
years, Louise Boswell, a sister, Pat Rouge, a step-sister, Mildred Walters and a
step-brother, Carroll Bowen.
The family received friends on Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at the Brinsfield Funeral
Home, P.A. in Leonardtown, MD. From 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with prayers at 7:00 p.m. A
Funeral Service was conducted on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the
Brinsfield Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Mike Dolan, Pastor of Immaculate Heart of
Mary Catholic Church, conducted the service. Interment followed in the Immaculate Heart of
Mary Cemetery, Lexington Park, Md.
