Drug Dealers Rounded Up Over Weekend
LEONARDTOWN --- According to St. Mary's Sheriff's Sgt. Edward Willenborg, on November 19, 2004, the Bureau of Criminal Investigations Drug Unit, a joint task force of the Maryland State Police and the St. Mary's Sheriff's Department with assistance from patrol units with the Sheriffs Department and Maryland State Police, conducted a warrant sweep for subjects recently Indicted for various violations of Maryland Drug Laws. The sweep was the culmination of an extended buy operation where police operatives purchased controlled dangerous substances from multiple subjects within St. Marys County. The following is a list of the subjects that were located and served with Grand Jury Indictments during the sweep.
Lawrence Clifton Bankins, 21, from Callaway
Charges: Possession of Cocaine (2 counts), Distribution of Cocaine (2 counts)
Marcel Dwayne Thomas, 18, from Leonardtown
Charges: Possession of Marijuana (2 counts), Distribution of Marijuana (2 counts)
Enoch Booth Abell Grube, 24, from California
Charges: Possession of Psilocyn, Possession with Intent to Distribute Psilocyn, Manufacturing Psilocyn
James William Dove Jr, 20, from Lexington Park
Charges: Possession of Cocaine, Distribution of Cocaine
James Mark Kimble Sr ,42, from Mechanicsville
Charges: Possession of Cocaine, Distribution of Cocaine
Danilyn Winder, 24, of Lexington Park
Charges: Possession of Cocaine (2 count), Distribution of Cocaine (2 counts)
Damien Xavier Bonds, 22, of Lexington Park
Charges: Possession of Cocaine, Distribution of Cocaine, Conspiracy
James Foley Somerville, 47, of Mechanicsville
Charges: Possession of Cocaine, Distribution of Cocaine
During the arrest of James Foley Somerville at a Mechanicsville home, Francis Victoria Chase, 52, was arrested for assaulting Dfc Christopher Morley 113 and hindering a police investigation.
Wayne Anthony Briscoe, 35, of Great Mills was found in Possession of Cocaine during the seizure of a motor vehicle that had been used several months earlier to facilitate the distribution of Cocaine. Mr. Briscoe was arrested and charged with possession of Cocaine. He was released to the custody of the detection center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
Paul Solomon Smallwood, 46, from Lexington Park was picked up and charged on a Statement of Probable Cause for Possession of Cocaine and Distribution of Cocaine stemming from a Cocaine sale in July of 2004 in Great Mills.
Additional arrests from the buy operation are anticipated over the next several days.
