EARLY MORNING MEDEVAC OF INJURED MAN
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. A man was medevaced in the dark hours of the morning by the Coast Guard off the coast of Virginia after sustaining injuries to his hand.
Dennis Oliver, 29, was airlifted by a Coast Guard rescue helicopter from Air Station Atlantic City at 5 a.m. this morning. The captain of the vessel CAROLINA LADY, a 75-foot commercial fishing vessel homeported in Seaford, Va., reported that Oliver had sustained injuries to his hand when it had become caught in a capstan.
Oliver was flown to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md., for further medical assistance.
His condition is unknown.
