Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr., today announced his appointment of attorney Robert B. Kershaw to serve as the Maryland State Bar Association representative, and as designated Chairman, of the State Prosecutor Selection and Disabilities Commission. A resident of Baltimore City, Kershaw is managing principal of the law firm of Ward & Kershaw. His civil litigation practice includes consumer class actions, contract, corporate and securities litigation, as well as insurance and real estate matters. He is a member of the Board of Governors of the Maryland State Bar Association and a Director of the Maryland Legal Services Corporation.
Kershaw is a past president of both the Baltimore City Bar Association and the Baltimore Bar Foundation.
The State Prosecutor Selection and Disabilities Commission has statutory responsibility to interview, evaluate and select for Gubernatorial appointment, individuals for the post of State Prosecutor. The office is currently vacant, as a result of the recent death of Stephen Montanarelli. The Commission is comprised of seven members, two nominated by the President of the Maryland State Senate, two by the Speaker of the Maryland House of Delegates, one by the Maryland State Bar Association, this time designated as Chair by the Governor from the list provided by the MSBA, one by the Maryland States Attorneys Association, and the Attorney General of Maryland. Appointed members serve four-year terms.

Kershaw is a graduate of Princeton University, and of the University of Maryland School of Law.
