Elinor Frances Kelley

Elinor Frances Kelley, 83 of Leonardtown, MD died on December 9, 2004 at her residence.

Born on January 22, 1921 in Canoe Creek Township, IL, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Veronica Mathais Buckley.

Mrs. Kelley graduated from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC with a BS in Physics. She moved to St. Mary’s County in 1974 from Prince George’s County where she began teaching. From 1974 until 1985 she taught school in St. John’s Catholic School, Hollywood, MD and Little Flower School, Great Mills, MD, she also taught CCD at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Leonardtown, MD and she volunteered with Birthright in St. Mary’s County.

She is survived by five children, Juanita M. Mureika of New Brunswick, Canada, Frederick M. Kelley of Shapplie, MA, Joseph P. Kelley of Stafford, VA, Brian P. Kelley of Leonardtown, MD and Paul G. Kelley of Westminster, MD, two brothers, Walt Buckley of Peoria, IL and Dan Buckley of Long Beach, CA, one sister Joane Winfield of Davenport, IA, 13 grandchildren also survive. In addition to her parents in 1971 she was preceded in death by her husband Frederick Martin Kelley whom she married on April 30, 1942.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 13, 2004 from 6:00 until 9:00 pm at the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A. 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD. Prayers will be recited at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Tuesday, Dec. 14 at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Leonardtown, MD with the Reverend Rory Conley as the celebrant. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton, MD.
