Elizabeth Ann Lacey Abell

Elizabeth Ann Lacey Abell, 70, of Leonardtown died peacefully January 19, 2005, at home with her family with the same strength, grace and beauty that she lived her life.
Born March 19, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Thomas McGiire and Margaret Brown Lacey and resided in Avenue.
She attended St. Mary’s Academy and lived in Leonardtown all her married life. She brought life and energy to every gathering, large and small, formal and informal, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, children, family and friends. Beautiful and graceful, the vision of Ann and Kennedy on the dance floor is a treasured memory.
She was the beloved wife of B. Kennedy Abell, Jr. They would have celebrated their 52nd Wedding Anniversary on February 14th. She is also survived by her devoted children B.K. Abell, III, and wife Ida, of Mechanicsville; Cynthia Ann Worcester, and husband Jeff, of La Plata; and Jennifer Lynn McCabe, and husband Pete, of Ashburn, Virginia. She adored her grandchildren – Greg, Paul, Kevin, Merissa, Megan, Jessica, Kelly and Molly.
She was very close with her brothers, William P. Lacey, of Waldorf; Thomas “Tucker” M. Lacey, of Avenue; and Richard Lacey, of Charlotte Hall; and her loving sister Alice M. Mirth, of Melbourne, Florida. She was preceeded in death by her sisters Mary L. Smith and Rita I. Wathen.
Family and friends will be received in the Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD on Friday, January 21st from 4 to 8 p.m. with prayers recited at 7:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Aloysious Catholic Church, Leonardtown, Md. with the Rev. Roy Conley officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Worcester, Paul Abell, Kevin Worcester, Chet Wathen, Ricky Lacey and David Smith.
