FATAL MOTORCYCLE CRASH
Charles County Sheriff's officers report that on Sept. 30 at 6:15 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the 6600 block of Rose Hill Road in La Plata for the report of a motorcycle crash. Investigation revealed the operator of a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle, Paul Lester Zanko, 49, of Nanjemoy, was traveling south on Rose Hill Road when he lost control, crossed the center line, left the road and struck a ditch. The motorcycle traveled along the ditch approximately 140 feet before Zanko and his passenger, Lenene Star Bradley, 32, of Indian Head, were ejected. Zanko was transported by ambulance to Civista Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Bradley was flown by a Maryland State Police helicopter to Prince George’s Hospital Center and is listed in serious condition. Cpl. R. Padgett of the Traffic Operations Unit is investigating.
