Faye E Hortch

Faye E. Hortch of Hughesville, Maryland died on September 21, 2005 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, Maryland. She was 86 years old.

Born March 14, 1919 in Sulphur, West Virginia to the late Rosa Helen Sharpless and Charles S. Green. She graduated from Elk Gardens High School of West Virginia in 1937. She was a homemaker who loved cooking, baking, gardening and being with people. She was a member and served as President for two years with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus Council in Annapolis, Maryland during the 1908’s. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bryantown, Maryland.

In addition to her parents, two sisters and one brother preceded Mrs. Hortch in death.

She is survived by her husband, Leo J. Hortch; sons Charles Harvey and his wife Neva of Hagerstown, MD, Gary Hortch and his wife Mary of Hughesville, MD; sister Carrie Lawrence and good friend Charles Paugh of Keyser, WV; grandchildren Lawrence Harvey, Allen Harvey, Kelly Elliott, Kerrie Spurling and Joseph F. Hortch; great grandchildren Michael Spurling, Matthew Spurling; Nathalie Elliott, Grae Elliott and Bess Elliott.

Family to receive friends on Sunday, September 25, 2005 from 3-5 & 7-9PM with Prayers at 7:30PM at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. 30195 Three Notch Road Charlotte Hall, MD. Visitation from 1PM to 1:45PM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 2PM on Monday, September 26, 2005 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Notre Dame Place Bryantown, MD with the Reverend Joseph Kleinstuber officiating. Interment Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Lawrence Harvey, Joe Hortch, Jim Lawrence, Jason Ketchel, Matthew Amerling and Joe Fort. Honorary Pallbearer is Allen Harvey.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Katrina Relief Fund care of any charity of one’s choice.
