BOWIE --- At about 9:15 AM, Tuesday, August 3, 2004, units from the Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department responded to a report of a head-on crash.   The two-car crash occurred on Church Road, a narrow, winding, two-lane road, between Mount Oak Road and Central Ave in Bowie.  A passenger sedan and minivan collided after one of the vehicles crossed the double yellow lines at a sharp curve in the road.  Three patients in the mini van, all teenaged females, sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported by ambulances to an area hospital.  The two occupants of the passenger sedan, both teenaged females, were trapped in their vehicles and sustained traumatic injuries.  Nearly 30 minutes were required to extricate both patients from their vehicle.  Maryland State Police and United States Park Police helicopters flew these two patients to an area trauma center for treatment. The Prince George's County Police Department is investigating this crash.
