Francis Elwood Scriber, 78, of Mechanicsville, MD, died on Monday, January 3, 2005 at his residence.

Born on April 28, 1926 in Loveville, MD, he was the son of the late St. Francis Scriber and the late Ardell Elizabeth Curtis Scriber. Mr. Scriber was a construction worker.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Helen Scriber, two daughters, Veronica Ann Scriber of Mechanicsville, MD, Gladys Marie Parks of Suitland, MD, three sons, Francis Elwood Scriber, Jr. Eric Manual Scriber and Joseph Anthony Scriber all of Mechanicsville, MD, fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, four sisters, Arnett Bullock of Ft. Washington, MD, Catherine Rhodes of White Plains, NY, Clara Scriber of Hartsdale, NY, Vivian Scriber of White Plains, NY and one brother, James Edgar Scriber of Dameron, MD.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 8, 2005 from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Morganza, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church. The Reverend Keith Woods will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD.
