Francis Norman Tyer, 77, of Lexington Park, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 1, 2005.

Francis was affectionately known by his family and many friends as “Frank”.

He was born in Leonardtown on November 9, 1927 to the late Phillip Tyer and Catherine Tyer. Frank was a groundskeeper at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 25 years. He also was a truck driver and he delivered wood to people who were in need. Frank enjoyed playing cards, planting gardens, cutting wood, and small engine repairs. His favorite pass time was just sitting in the car even if he was not going anywhere. Frank also enjoyed spending time with EJ better known to Frank as “Jay”.

Frank was a devoted husband and father. He leaves to mourn his death a loving wife Valerie Melissa Hall-Tyer, his loving daughter Zaneta Mae Hall of Lexington Park, MD. Frank raised 4 loving step-daughters Twanda Denise Hall of Lexington Park, MD, Tikisha Diane Hall of Leonardtown, MD, Marquita Alicia Campbell of Lexington Park, MD, and Natia Amanda Milburn of Lexington Park, MD. He had four grandchildren Eric Dewayne Dickerson, Jr., Shantella Marie Saxon, Arianna Martina Campbell, NuyJaya Angelese Milburn. Francis is survived by his brothers Desales Tyer, Ernest Armstrong, Aloysius Tyer and preceded in death by the late Joseph and Charles Tyer. Also survived by his sisters Lorraine Rogers, Geraldine Brown, Joesphine Armstrong, and Amanda Clyburn. Frank was blessed with a host of nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Greater Morning Star #2 Pentecostal Church, Lexington Park, MD. The Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Greater Morning Star #2 Pentecostal Church. Elder William A. Williams will be officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery, Bushwood, MD.

Pallbearers will be Joesph C. Swales, Frederick L. Milburn II, John Tyer, Kenny Armstrong, Ernie Miles, Charles Henry Armstrong, Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Eric Dickerson, Jr., Devone Hall, and Michael Thomas, Jr.
