George Calvert Norris
US Army, Korean War Veteran
George Calvert Norris, 73, of Leonardtown, MD, died
on April 10, 2005 in St. Marys Hospital in Leonardtown, MD. He was born in St.
Inigoes, MD on January 27, 1932.
Mr. Norris served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954. He was a Korean War veteran. During
his military service, he was awarded the Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Service
Star, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the ROK
Presidential Unit Citation.
He was employed as a civilian electrician at the Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, MD
until 1982. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, his grandchildren and cooking meals
for large gatherings of family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Norris of Leonardtown, MD, his children, George (Matt)
Norris of Clarksville, MD, Michael Norris of Mechanicsville, MD, Gail Nash of Leonardtown,
MD, Rose Jasper of Leonardtown, MD and Donna Isenberg of Mechanicsville, MD,
daughters-in-law, Betsy Norris and Sandy Norris, sons-in-law, Hary Nash, Timm Jasper, and
Bill Isenberg, grandchildren, Monica and Nicole Norris, Kenneth Nash, Tim and Jennifer
Jasper, Michael and Chris Isenberg, brother Joseph Jerry Norris of Ridge, MD and
godchildren, Joseph George Parent of Germany and Kim Marie Callanan
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Jerry Norris, his mother, Rose Trossbach
Norris Stone, daughter, Judy Wood, son-in-law, Bobby Wood and brothers, Louis Andrew
Norris and Thomas Clarence Norris.
The family will receive friends at St. Michaels Church in Ridge, MD on April 13,
2005 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Prayers will be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be celebrated on April 14, 2005 at ------- in St. Michaels
Church. The Reverend -------- will be the celebrant.
