George Columbus Dorsey, 86, of Lexington Park, MD, died on Tuesday May 25, 2004 at Bayside Care Center, Lexington Park, MD.

Born on November 14, 1917 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Logan Dorsey and Agnes Brandaham Dorsey. Mr. Dorsey worked as a truck driver for the Charlie Davis Crab House.

He is survived by his wife Frances Bennett Dorsey of Lexington Park, MD; five children, James Dorsey of Lexington Park, MD; Jussell Johnson of Lexington Park, MD; Virgie Bell of Jacksonville, FL, Phyllis Hawkins of Lexington Park, MD; and John E. Dorsey of Lexington Park, MD. He is Also survived by three step-children Mary Holford, Lorraine Williams, and Betty Goforth; brothers, Lawrence Dorsey, Charles Dorsey, and a sister Annie Dorsey; 31 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by step-son, Joseph Avon Whalen and sister, Ruth E. Berry.

The family will receive friends at Zion United Methodist Church 21291 Three Notch Rd. Lexington Park, MD on Saturday May 29, 2004 from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at a later date.

Serving as pallbearers are Kenneth Burke, Jeffrey Berry, James Bush, Rufus Gough, Aaron Johnson, James Whalen, and Michael Neal.
