Gertrude Elizabeth MaMa Lou Medley
Gertrude Elizabeth “MaMa Lou” Medley, 59 of Clements, MD died on Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at the St. Mary’s Hospital, Leonardtown, MD.

Born on November 24, 1944 in Leonardtown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Teresa Herbert Parker.

A life long resident of St. Mary’s County, Ms. Medley was a member of the St. Joseph’s Church and the Try Me Social Club both in Morganza, MD. She was employed with the St. Mary’s County School System as a Custodian. Her hobbies included bingo, fishing, softball, gambling and riding motorcycles.

She is survived by three children, Francis Herbert of Oxon Hill, MD, Charlene Medley, of Waldorf, MD and Tyrome Medley of Clements, MD, five sisters, Mary Armstrong and Helena Holt both of Clements, MD, Barbara Whalen of Charlotte Hall, MD, Margie Armstrong of Charlotte Hall, MD and Dorothy Bush of NJ, one brother, William S. Herbert, Jr. of CA, two grandchildren also survive. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Bray and Teresa Parker and one brother, Joe Charles Herbert.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 8, 2004 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Morganza, MD. Prayers will be recited at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday August 9, 2004 at 11:00 am in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Morganza, MD. The Revernd Keith Woods will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD.
