Head On Crash With Choppers Down
Due To Weather

Early Sunday morning, June 6, 2004, another head-on crash
took place on Rt. 5, a divided highway, in front of Lighthouse Liquors, leaving two
persons trapped inside the wreckage. Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department
personnel arrived on the scene at 1:28 am, assisted by Hughesville firefighters and EMS
units. A Med-Evac helicopter was requested by due to the weather, none were
available. Four persons were transported to hospitals.
