Henrietta Matilda Combs

Henrietta Matilda “ Hattie” Combs, 95, of Leonardtown, MD died January 13, 2005, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Leonardtown, Maryland. Born November 28, 1909 in Scotland, MD, she was the daughter of the late John Alexander and Mary Elizabeth Gatton.

She is preceded in death by her first husband William Allen Ridgell and her second husband James Burke Combs. She is also preceded in death by her sons, Thomas Earl Ridgell, John Allen Ridgell, and James Albert Ridgell, her sister, Queenie Kraus, and her brothers, Earl Gatton, George Gatton, and Thomas Gatton.

The family received friends on Sunday, January 16, 2005 at St. Michaels Catholic Church, 16555 Three Notch Road, Ridge, MD from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. On Monday, January 17, 2005 at St. Michaels Catholic Church a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am, with Reverend Maurice O’Connell as the Celebrant. Interment follows in St. Michaels Catholic Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be George Kraus, Jr., Ralph Ridgell, Bobby Cooper, John Ridgell, Mathew Ridgell, and George Gatton.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made in lieu of flowers to St. Mary’s Nursing Center, P.O. Box 518, Leonardtown, MD 20650 or St. Michael’s Catholic Church, P.O. Box 429, Ridge, Maryland 20680.

Funeral arrangements were provided by the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., Leonardtown, Maryland.
