The real heroes of our society: people of all races and ethnicities who make up the forgotten middle class

To the Editor;

In these last few days before Election Day I have to ask one question: where is my parade?

No, I'm not egotistical, I'm actually about 5'6 and a proud member of the struggling middle class.

I ask this question because I have seen people taking to the streets to march for the "rights" of illegal immigrants (who, I might add, are illegal, and should not have rights equated to those given to naturalized and natural born citizens).

I've seen people march for the rights of same-sex couples. I've seen corporate lobbyists troupe up to speak to our elected representatives.

I've seen fundraisers held for candidates with tickets costing thousand of dollars that I can't possibly afford. I've seen prayer vigils and protests for those convicted of murder and sentenced to death.

I've seen demonstrations for cop killers. I've seen the President tell us how those who make ten figures a year deserve the same tax break as someone who makes 30k.

I've seen voices raised for every strata of society save one: people of all races and ethnicities who make up the forgotten middle class.

What I am asking is who is going to go into the streets and march for me and people like me? People who are here legally (paying for those who aren't), people who obey the law, teach their children to respect others regardless of color or social status, people who pay their taxes, people who realize that the best way to honor the sacrifice of our troops is to go out and vote, and people who genuinely love this country and who would give their lives for the ideal that is America. Where is their parade?

Where are the hundreds of thousands of people marching for the rights of legal, hard working Americans?

The answer: those people I mentioned above are at work.

They've got to pay for the illegal's, those who take advantage of the system, and, the spendthrift ways of our elected leaders.

 In short, they're too busy to take to the streets to speak for themselves. Too bad nobody else will.
