Jail Bird Head Bang
On February 22, 2005 at 11:27am, Deputies from the Calvert County Sheriffs office responded to the Calvert County Detention Center for an assault. Investigation revealed, Inmate Clayton Taylor Jr., 21, of Prince Frederick, assaulted another inmate causing that inmate to hit his head on the floor. Due to the injuries the victim sustained during the assault he was transported to Prince Georges Shock Trauma where he is listed in critical condition. The victims name has not been released pending proper notification. Charges in this case are pending.

PRINCE FREDERICK On February 15th, 2005 at 12:04 pm, Cpl Moschetto conducted a traffic stop on Md Rt 2/4 in the area of Main St., Prince Frederick, Md. Based on observations made during the stop, a search of the vehicle was conducted. Six (6) partially burnt hand rolled cigarettes containing suspected marijuana and a clear plastic baggie containing suspected marijuana were located inside the car. The operator; Ray A. Johnson Jr., 21, of Port Republic, Md. was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with possession of CDS.
Nursing Home Pickpocket
SOLOMONS On February 15th, 2005 at 8:10 pm, Deputy Ward responded to the Solomons Nursing Center located at 13325 Dowell Road, Solomons, Md. for a reported theft. Investigation revealed that an unknown person(s) removed the victims wallet from her purse. The purse was in an unlocked desk drawer. There are no suspects at this time.

NORTH BEACH On February 16th, 2005 at 8:58 pm, Cpl. McCourt conducted a traffic stop on Md. Rt 261 in front of the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department. Based on observations made during the stop, James Ben Boggs was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. A search incident to arrest revealed a non-conventional smoking device containing suspected crack cocaine residue. Boggs was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center were he was charged with DUI and CDS possession.

NORTH BEACH On February 16th, 2005 at 9:30 am, Dfc Wilson contacted Samuel J. OMalley, 46 years old of North Beach, Md. on 1st Street in the area of D Street, North Beach, Md. OMalley was wanted on an open warrant from Anne Arundel County Maryland. He was placed under arrest for the warrant. A search incident to the arrest revealed a non-conventional smoking device containing suspected crack cocaine residue. He was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with possession of CDS and served with the open warrant.
Drivers Wallet, Phone Stolen by Heathens on Bus
NORTH BEACH On February 18th, 2005 at 3:10 pm, Dfc Figueiras responded to the 3800 block of Oak St., North Beach, Md for a reported theft. Investigation revealed the victims cell phone and wallet were stolen while she was driving the school bus. The phone and the wallet were taken from her purse between 2:38 pm and 2:50 pm.. There are no suspects at this time.

HUNTINGTOWN On February 20th, 2005 at 7:00 am, Dfc Basham responded the area of Faith Lane and Ponds Wood Rd, Huntingtown, Md. for a reported destruction of property. Investigation revealed that 33 mailboxes had been damaged in the area. 6 street sign were also damaged or missing. This is the second time in two weeks that this type of damage has occurred in the Huntingtown area. Trouble at Army Recruiting Office
PRINCE FREDERICK On February 21st, 2005 Dfc M. Jones responded to the US Army Recruiting Center, located at 150 West Dares Beach Rd., Prince Frederick, Md. for a report of an assault. William J. Smith, 35 years old of St. Leonard, Md. is accused of approaching the victim displaying a knife and threatening to kill him. Smith was taken into custody and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center were he was charged with 2nd Degree Assault.

PRINCE FREDERICK On February 20th, 2005 at 2:06 am, Sgt B. McCourt conducted a traffic stop on Rt 2/4 in the area of German Chapel Rd., Prince Frederick, Md. Based on observations made during the stop, Jose L. Medina, 26 years old of St. Leonard, Md. was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. A search of his person revealed a plastic baggie containing suspected marijuana. He was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with DUI and possession of CDS.

PRINCE FREDERICK On February 21st, 2005 at 12:22 am, members of the Calvert County Sheriffs Office and Maryland State Police responded to the Super 8 motel in Prince Frederick, Md. for a reported CDS Violation. Units responded to room 118 and detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana. Cpl Moschetto made contact with the occupants of the room and found a gold in color non-conventional smoking device containing suspected marijuana. Roy S. Cochran 28 years old of Fredericksburg, Va. and Samantha C. Cochran 27 years old of Fredericksburg, Va. were placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with possession of CDS.
