James Donald White

James Donald White, 54, of Great Mills, MD formerly of La Plata, MD died on November 15, 2004 in Washington Hospital Center. Born January 19, 1950 in La Plata, MD he was the son of the late Martha Mitchell and Clarence White. He was the loving husband of Linda Bennetts White whom he married in Prince Frederick, MD in December of 1988. He is survived by his daughters Veronica White of La Plata, MD, Mary Hatfield Bond of Town Creek, MD and Jennifer Alice Randelman of Japan; brothers Clarence White, Jr. of Thurmont, MD, Thomas White, William White and Jackie White all of La Plata, MD and 3 grandchildren. He attended La Plata High School and College of Southern Maryland where he earned his Associates Degree in Chemistry and Mathematics. He was member of the National Guard and moved to St. Mary’s County in 1986 from La Plata, MD. Mr. White was employed through Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant as a Chemistry Technician for the last 22 ½ years. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus and Immaculate Heart of Mary Council #9968 and his hobbies were sports, music and to DJ Parties. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 18 from 5 – 8 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, with prayers being said at 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today Friday, November 19 at 11 AM in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church Lexington Park, MD with Father Mike Dolan officiating. Contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 415 N. Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21201-4101.
