James Hoover Taylor

James Hoover Taylor, 75, of Park Hall, MD, died on December 14, 2004 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Leonardtown, MD.

Born on March 29, 1929 in Park Hall, MD he was the son of the late Samuel C. and Mary Matthews Taylor. Mr. Taylor has lived in St. Mary’s County his entire life. He graduated from Jarboeville High School and was a World War II veteran being honorably discharged from the United States Army. Mr. Taylor was a life long member of Zion United Methodist Church, Lexington Park, MD and really enjoyed working outdoors, cutting wood, and cutting grass.

He is survived by his siblings Samuel C. Taylor, Jr. of Park Hall, MD; Clarence E. Taylor of Pineview Knoll, MD; John Henry Taylor of Park Hall, MD; Willie M. Taylor of Upper Marlboro, MD; James O. Taylor of Accokeek, MD; Bertha Mae Fenwick of Ridge, MD; Rachel E. Christy of Millersville, MD and a host of loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by siblings Maggie, George, and Charles Taylor.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 20, 2004 at Zion United Methodist Church, Lexington Park, MD from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. with funeral services being held at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Brian Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Leonardtown, MD.

Serving as pallbearers are Troy Bailey, Dwight Taylor, Rodney Taylor, Toney Hatton, DeAngelo Hatton, and John Stevens.
