James Leo Otto, 66 of Leonardtown, MD and formally of Doylestown, PA died on December 3, 2004 at the Washington Hospital Center, Washington, DC.

Born on December 31, 1937 in Grapeville, PA. He was preceded in death by his father Leo Otto.

He was the beloved husband of Helen, devoted son of Martha Erickson, caring brother to Betty Loughner, loving father to Sandra Fletcher, Stephen Otto, Marcia Dennis, stepfather to Kim Cardamone, Linda Chappelle and Robert A. Horger. Greatly missed by six grandchildren Caroline, Rebecca, Olivia, Danny, Michael and Paul. Adoring master to Basset Hound MaryAnne.

He served in the US Navy for four years on Guided Missile Electronics program, worked for RCA Service Company for 25 years as Manager / Field Engineer on several down range Caribbean stations, operating and maintaining radar systems for the US Navy, employed by Pacer Systems which later became Titan Systems Corporation for 21 years as Chief Systems Engineer assigned to various US Navy projects.

Mr. Otto was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church in St. Mary’s City, MD, he served on the Vestry for three years as Junior then Senior Warden, performed Assistant Treasurer duties for seven years was a member of the Cemetery Committee and acted as designer on the Restoration Project. Some of his favorite hobbies included woodworking, geocaching, computers, camping, traveling, hiking, and repairing bicycles for the needy.

Relatives and friends may share on the celebration of his life on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at Trinity Episcopal Church, St. Mary’s City, MD. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2004 at 11:00 am. The Reverend John Ball will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
