John Barney Komar of Charlotte Hall, Maryland died
on Friday, June 11, 2004 at his home. He was 61 years old.
Born December 14, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Mary Elizabeth Howell and Joseph
Boniface Komar. Mr. Komar served in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War before
being Honorably Discharged in 1966. He was a Senior Fuel and Ash Technician for Mirant
Mid-Atlantic. Mr. Komar was a member of the American Legion Post 238 in Hughesville, MD, a
member and Past Commander of the Am Vets Post 13. He enjoyed bowling, old cars, traveling
and playing golf.
He is survived by his wife Lillian; daughter Christine; grandchildren Mary Ashley, Matthew
and Casey; sisters Laura Porter and Jo Anne Rush; brother James Komar; sister-in-law
Patricia Komar; brothers-in-law Thomas Michaliga, Joey Michaliga, Gerald Michaliga and
Clell Porter; many other relatives and friends.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 17, 2004 from 2 to 4PM and 6 to 8PM with
American Legion Services at 6:30PM at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. 30195 Three
Notch Road Charlotte Hall, Maryland. Service and Interment 11AM Friday, June 18, 2004 at
Maryland Veterans Cemetery Chelthenham, Maryland (Funeral Procession to leave the Funeral
Home at 10AM).
Pallbearers are Jim Russell, Ray Wetherald, Mike Turner, Mac Greer, Steve Jarvis and Alvin
Russell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Matthew Hunt, Tommy Swann and Randy Sparks.
