John J. O' Grady

John J. O’Grady, 90, of Hollywood, MD, died on Thursday, January 20, 2005 in St. Mary’s Nursing Center, Leonardtown, MD.

Born on June 19, 1914 in Cambridge, MA, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth Maloney O’Grady. He worked as a dental technician at the Tullock Dental Laboratory in Boston, MA, manager of Jacob Wirth’s Restaurant in Boston, MA, member of customer affairs at the state house in Boston, member of the Brighton Knights of Columbus and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and past president of the Massachusetts Football Referee Association in Allston, MA.

He is survived by his wife Mary Josephine Hughes O’Grady of Hollywood, MD, a son, Kevin Francis O’Grady of Hollywood, MD, three grandchildren, one step grandchild and two sisters, Madelyn Frechette and Irene Porter both of Boston, MA.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 27, 2005 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in St. John’s Catholic Church, Hollywood, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in St. John’s Church. The Reverend Ray Schmidt will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
