Joseph Mitchell Ford
U.S. Army Veteran


Joseph Mitchell Ford of Clinton, Maryland died on June 3, 2004 at Southern Maryland Hospital Center Clinton, Maryland. He was 65 years old.

Born February 11, 1939 in Charlotte Hall, Maryland to Mary Albert Jenifer Ford and the late John Preston Ford. Living in the Southern Maryland area, Mr. Ford always considered St. Mary’s County home. He served in the U. S. Army from 1961 until 1963 when he was Honorably Discharged. He later worked at Naval Surface Weapons Center in Indian Head, Maryland until his retirement. He then worked for Brandywine Auto Parts as a Parts Deliver Person out of the Waldorf store. Joe enjoyed playing cards, going fishing and when he was younger, he loved to play baseball.

In addition to his father, Joe Ford was preceded in death by his brother John Melvin Ford and sister Irene.

In addition to his mother, Joe is survived by his wife Alice Thelma Young Ford; daughter Marilyn Elena Ford; sisters Marion Stewart, Hester Stewart and Vinia Ford; brothers Kenneth Ford, Julius Ford and Emerson Ford; aunt Agnes Curtis; uncle John Jenifer; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 9, 2004 from 6-8PM with Prayers at 7PM at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P. A. 30195 Three Notch Road (Route 5) Charlotte Hall, Maryland. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, June 10, 2004 at All Faith Episcopal Church 38885 New Market Turner Road Charlotte Hall, Maryland at 11AM with the Reverend Jesse Neat officiating (Viewing at the church Thursday morning from 9:30AM to 10:30AM). Interment in the church cemetery following the Funeral Service.
