Julia Katharine Gough, 94 of Waldorf, MD died on August 25, 2004 in Waldorf, MD.

Born on May 22, 1910 in Wicomico (Charles County), MD, she was the daughter of the late Henry Clarence and Kate Emma Lyon Thompson. She has resided in this area for over 71 years. She was a housewife and a member of Christ Episcopal Church in La Plata, MD. In the 1950’s, Ms. Gough was very active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Dept., and the Homemakers Club in Waldorf, MD. She also belonged to a bowling team, loved to dress up for Halloween and dressed up her young grandchildren as well. Another enjoyment of hers was fishing and crabbing in St. Mary’s County.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Gough was preceded in death by her husband Samuel “Harry” Gough; grandsons James Estep and Aaron Gough; son-in-law Eric Cramer; sisters Louise Rice and Arlene St. Clair; brother Nelson Thompson.

Her children, Mary Katharine and her husband Vic Estep of Charlotte Hall, MD, Hazel V. Cramer of La Plata, MD, Dorothy M. and her husband James Estep of Waldorf, MD and Leon Harry and his wife Judy Gough, of Waldorf, MD also survive her. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, six great great grandchildren numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Family received friends on Sunday, August 29, 2004 from 2PM to 6PM with Prayers at 5PM in The Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., Charlotte Hall, MD where a Funeral Service was held on Monday, August 30, 2004 at 11AM. Interment followed at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD.
