Kid Killed When He Ran Into Path of Car
SPRINGFIELD, VA. --- A 14-year-old boy died after being struck by a car on Old Keene Mill Road Saturday. On July 23 at 6:30 p.m., Nathan Jacobi, of 6407 Wyngate Drive in Springfield, ran into the path of an oncoming car traveling west on Old Keene Mill Road. He was struck by a 1998 Buick Regal near the intersection of Bauer Drive driven by a 52-year-old Herndon-area man. The boy was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries later that evening. Neither speed nor alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash. No charges are pending against the driver. This is the 32^nd fatal crash in Fairfax County this year.
