NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
In accordance with the Code of Public Laws of Maryland, Article 19,
§109-2B(3)(II&III), Notice is Hereby Given that the Board of St. Mary’s County
Commissioners will conduct a Public Hearing on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 ,at
11:30 a.m. for the following project:
“Abandonment of all of the approximately sixty-two hundredths (0.623) of an acre
of the sixty (60) foot right-of-way Iverson Drive, County Route 31133, located
in the Eighth (8th) Election District, of St. Mary’s County, Maryland. This
abandonment was requested by the abutting property owner to have all of the
approximately sixty-two hundredths (0.623) of a Public County-Maintained Road to
become Private”.
The Public Hearing will be held in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room at the
Governmental Center, 23115 Leonard Hall Drive, Leonardtown, Maryland. Those
wishing to present testimony or evidence in favor or against the above request
will be afforded the opportunity to do so at the Public Hearing. The record will
remain open for comment ten (10) days following the Public Hearing.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of County Commissioners for St.
Mary’s County, will hold a Public Hearing on October 17, 2006, beginning

On June 13, 2006, the Board of County Commissioners for St. Mary’s County
adopted Resolution 2006-48 for the purpose of establishing the St. Mary’s County
Family Violence Coordinating Council.
No. 2006-49
On June 13, 2006, the Board of County Commissioners for St. Mary’s County
adopted Resolution 2006-49 for the purpose of supporting the development of
Housing in St. Mary’s County to be financed either directly by the Department of
Housing and Community Development of the State of Maryland or through the
Department’s Community Development Administration. Hunting Creek LLC proposes to
develop and operate a rental housing development comprised of seventy units
located on Willows Road in Lexington Park, MD.

On June 13, 2006, the Board of County Commissioners for St. Mary’s County,
Maryland, adopted Ordinance No. 2006-06 to reflect the updated rate of service
charge of 1.06% authorized by the MD Dept. of Assessments and Taxation for those
choosing the optional semiannual real property tax payment schedule. Revenue

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that, on behalf of the Federal Aviation Administration
(FAA), the Department of Public Works &
Transportation will be holding a Public Informational Meeting on Monday,
May 22, 2006 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Captain Walter Francis
Duke Regional Airport at St. Mary’s. The meeting will be held in the
Airport Terminal Building located at 44200 Airport Road in California,
Maryland. This initial meeting is intended to provide the public with
information on the Environmental Assessment (EA) as recommended by the
FAA to evaluate potential impacts
associated with developing the Airport consistent with the 20-year
Master Plan of development as approved in 2002, and amended in 2003.
The meeting is in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act
(NEPA) of 1969 and FAA Citizen Participation in Airport Planning
Airports Advisory Circular 150/5050 4.
The Board of County Commissioners for St.
Mary’s County and Airport Advisory Committee invites the public’s
comments and participation in this process. In accordance with FAA
Airport Environmental Handbook Order 5050.4A, citizen involvement is a
necessary element in the decision making process. The informational
meeting will also provide the public an opportunity to comment and
provide input on the projects that are
to be evaluated during the EA process. Workshop style stations will
display project exhibits for public review. Airport
staff and consultants will be available to discuss the purpose and need
of the projects, alternative evaluation, environmental impacts, or other
project specific related questions. In accordance with Section 509
(b)(6) of the 1982 Airport Act, the opportunity for public hearings
shall be offered on any action involving airport location, location of a
new runway, or major extension of a runway.

The Plaintiffs, Evelyn E. Crawford Queen and Charles A. Queen, pro se,

1. The State and County taxes for the years 2003 and 2004, being unpaid
and having been levied on certain property described herein below, and
after that advertisement, having been sold by the Collector of Taxes for
St. Mary’s County, Maryland, namely, Jannette P. Norris, did issue to
the Plaintiffs a certificate of sale dated February 17, 2005, which said
certificate is attached hereto and made a part hereof and marked Exhibit
A.
2. The subject property so sold to Plaintiffs, as described in the
Assessor’s records, their owners of record, and the amount necessary for
redemption of said property are as follows:
a. Lot 13, Block 9, Longview Beach Club in the Seventh Election District
of St. Mary’s County, Maryland and conveyed by deed dated May 15, 1974
to Marian Crawford by Laverne Coles at Liber 241, Folio 16. The amount
necessary for redemption of this property is $83.00 ( eighty-three
dollars) plus interest and the reimbursement of Plaintiffs expenses.
3. The address of the Defendant listed in the caption of this Complaint
to Foreclose Right of Redemption is the address shown in the records of
the Assessor of St. Mary’s County, Maryland.
4. The property described herein has not been redeemed by any party in
interest,
although more than six (6) months and a day from the date of the sale
has transpired.
WHEREFORE, THE PLAINTIFFS request as follows:
1. That an Order of Publication be granted unto the Plaintiffs, to order
a copy of the complaint be inserted in a newspaper pursuant to ss.
14-840 of th eTax Property Articles of the Maryland Annotated Code,
directed to all parties in interest of the property described herein,
commanding them to appear on some certain date to be named therein to
answer the premises and to abide b and perform such orders and
judgements as may be passed therein.
2. That a copy of the Order of Publication and of this Complaint to

Hospital for a Hospice Home in St. Mary’s County, Maryland.

State of Maryland, COMAR 26.11.03.07, the Maryland Department of the
Environment (the “Department”) has prepared a draft Part 70 Operating
Permit for Support Terminals Operating Partnership, L.P. dba Valero,
L.P. Piney Point Terminal, located in Piney Point, MD. The issuance of
the Part 70 Operating Permit for this facility will be the subject of a
Public Hearing to be held on January 25, 2006 at 7 p.m. at the Second
District Volunteer Fire Department Hall located at the intersection of
MD State Route 249 and Drayden Road in Valley Lee, MD. In the event of
inclement weather, this hearing will take place on February 1, 2006 at

BEING land conveyed by Mayme R. Merriweather to Alan J. Friedman
and Royce E. Friedman, husband and wife, by Deed dated June 6, 1972 and
recorded as Liber DBK No. 178 Folio 497 and by Deed dated June 9, 1972
and recorded at Liber DBK No. 178m Folio 498. The amount necessary for
Redemption for the month of December, 2005 is $152.80 adn $383.71 plus
accruing interest and reimbursement of Plaintiff of costs incurred.
The Complaint to Foreclose Right of Redemption states, among other
things, that the amount necessary for Redemption has not been paid,
although more than six months and a day from the date of sale has
passed.
It is thereupon this 8th day of December, 2005, by the Circuit Court For
St. Mary’s County, Maryland, ORDERED that notice be given by the

indirect costs to construct the Public Meeting Room as required in Final
Design and the Contract Documents; Alternate #1 - Front Porch Addition;
and Alternate #2 – Parking Alterations. This project is located in

On Thursday, December 22,
2005, at 2:00 PM local time, a Pre-Proposal conference will be held in
Room 14 of the County Office Building, 23115 Leonard Hall Drive,
Leonardtown, Maryland 20650. The intent of this conference is to
clarify the Plans and Specifications advertised and intended for bidding
purposes. All potential bidders are requested to attend this conference.
However, attendance is not a requirement of the Contract.
