Leonidas Perry Green
Leonidas Perry Green of Hollywood, Maryland died on Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown, Maryland surrounded by his daughters. He was 76 years old.

Born July 31, 1928 in Clay County, Georgia to the late Hortense Green and Leonidas Green. Perry grew up in Clio, Alabama. After joining the service in 1946, he was stationed in the Washington, DC area. It was here that he met his wife Katherine (Kitty) and they made their home in Washington, DC and Prince George’s County, Maryland where they raised their four children. Finally, in 1997, Perry and Kitty moved back to Kitty’s hometown in St. Mary’s County to spend their retirement years.

He worked as a civilian for the Naval Research Lab as a photographer for 37 years. Perry also spent his weekends as a barber with his brother-in-law. In addition, he was a member of the Clinton American Legion Post 259. He spent much of his time enjoying the outdoors, especially fishing and working in his yard. In his retirement years he was known to always be found in his “workshop” where he was busy making something.

Perry is survived by his four children William and his wife Cindi Green of Colorado, Judy and her husband Michael Cladny of Owings, MD, Linda Nelson of Waldorf, MD and Nancy and her husband Danny Brooks of Springfield, VA; brothers Frank Green (Jane) of Jay, Florida and Chris Green (Sarah) of Montgomery, Alabama; sister Julia Miller of Montgomery, Alabama; six grandchildren Jenny Luongo, Jason Gott, Becky Smith, Kathy Nelson, Andrea Nelson and Matthew Nelson; two great grandchildren Lauren and Joshua Luongo.
