Lloyd Ellsworth Wilson
US Army Air Corps, US Air Force, WWII, Korea, Vietnam Veteran
Lloyd Ellsworth Wilson, 86, of Leonardtown, MD, died
December 24, 2004 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Leonardtown, MD.
Born on September 16, 1918 in Weyerhaeuser, WI, he was the son of the late
Ellsworth and Laura Lorana (Clark) Wilson. The family later moved to Ladysmith,
Rusk County, WI. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, which he
entered in 1941, the United States Army Air Force and the United States Air
Force. He served during World War II, Korea and Vietnam, retiring from the
military in 1968. He then served with the United States Capitol Police in
Washington, D.C. from 1968 until retirement in 1981. He was a member of the
Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), American Legion, Air Force Association and the
34th Bomb Group [H] Association.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife Ethel Ardene (Drone) Wilson, two daughters,
Michelle D. Block of Stafford, VA and Marsha A. Dyson of Leonardtown, MD, one
son, Jeffrey L. Wilson of North Beach, MD, two sisters, Marion L. Barnett of
Whittier, CA and Audrie L. Wilson of Eau Claire, WI, six grandchildren, Kyle H.
Tabor of Gaithersburg, MD, Joanne D. Patane of Stafford, VA, Carl, Neal and
Kristen Dyson all of Leonardtown, MD, and Paul J. Patane of San Diego, CA and
four nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 from 6:00 p.m.
until 8:00 p.m. in the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A. in Leonardtown, MD. A
Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday, December 30, 2004 at ------a.m.
in the funeral home chapel. The Reverend John A. Ball, Rector of Trinity
Episcopal Church in St. Mary’s City, MD, will conduct the service. Interment
will be on January 4, 2005 at 12:30 p.m. at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in
Cheltenham, MD.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kyle Tabor, Terry Block, Lee Dyson, Carl Dyson,
Neal Dyson and Kristen Dyson.
