Louise Goff Rice, 82
Services:A Funeral Service will be held at St. George's Episcopal Church in Valley Lee, MD on Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Rona Harding Officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD.

Visitation:
Louise Goff Rice, 82, of Lexington Park, MD, died June 26, 2004 in Lexington Park, MD. Born November 27, 1921 in Decherd, TN, she was the daughter of the late Berta Tipton and Orion Goff. She was preceded in death by her husband Francis Noble Rice, whom she married in 1959 on St. George’s Island. Mrs. Rice was the loving mother of David Durham of Amsterdam, Holland and loving grandmother of Tracy McDaniel and her husband Erick of Fredericksburg, VA. Mrs. Rice is also survived by her great-granddaughter Lauren McDaniel of Fredericksburg, VA. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Virginia, Tom, Jack, Beulah, Howard, Pauline, Raymond, Martin and Paschal. She was the youngest of 10 children. Mrs. Rice moved to St. Mary’s County in 1977 from Oxen Hill, MD after retiring as the Chief of Currency Redemption for the U.S. Treasury Department for 30 years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needle point, solving crossword puzzles and playing bingo. A funeral service will be held on June 30, 2004 at 10:00 AM in St. George’s Episcopal Church in Valley Lee, MD with Rev. Rona Harding officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers for Mrs. Rice will be Erick McDaniel, Michael Mead, Erik Mead, Jerry Boykin, Les Goddard and Jerry Brown. The Honorary Pallbearer will be Tom Joyner. Contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Mary’s, P.O. Box 625, Leonardtown, MD 20650 and/or the Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 339, Lexington Park, MD 20653.
