Luther Franklin Dean Jr.
U.S. Army WWII Veteran
Luther Franklin Dean, Jr., 86, of Hollywood died January 6, 2005, at St. Marys
Hospital
in Leonardtown,
Born November 20, 1918 in Laurel Grove, he was the son of the late Luther Franklin and
Lillian Grace Jones Dean.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1941 to 1943.
Mr. Dean was a painter for U.A. Government retiring in 1980 after 40 years of service.
He is survived by his wife Fay M. Dean, whom he marred April 29, 1944. He is also survived
by
his sons Kenneth Wayne and his wife, Marie, of Hollywood, Larry Stephen and his wife,
Beverly,
of Laurel Grove; Kevin Mark and his wife, Becky, of California; and Bradley Delane and his
wife Cheryl,
of Waldorf. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Calvin Dean and
Lemuel Dean.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 10th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the
Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, Md., with prayers offered
at7:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at the Hollywood United
Methodist Church, 24422 Mervell Dean Road, Hollywood, Md. The Reverend Sheldon Reese
Pastor of the church will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Joy Chapel Cemetery in Hollywood, Md.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren Scott Dean, Eric Dean, Stephen Dean, Kirk Dean, Ryan
Dean and Danny Dean.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren Erin Dean, Philip Dean, Travis Dean, Ryan
Townsend and great-great grandchildren Trent Chisholm and Cassandra Chisholm.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Hollywood United Methodist Church, 24422 Mervell
Dean Road, Hollywood, Md. 20636.
